Frequently asked questions
A telehealth visit with Phoenix Medical Group is a real-time audio call or video call with your certified provider. This visit can be done from your couch, during your lunch break or in the evening when it is most convenient for you. You will receive high-quality care that is comprehensive and tailored to your needs. No need to take off work, drive to your doctor's office or take your prescriptions to a pharmacy to drop off. If your provider needs to order prescriptions, labs or radiology exams it will be sent in electronically. This online appointment offers many services like primary care, acute care, weight loss, and hormone therapy, all done with the same care as an in-person visit.
At Phoenix Medical Group of Florida, we are proud to offer a wide range of medical appointments through our telehealth platform, including primary care, acute care, weight loss management, and hormone replacement therapy. However, it's important to note that not all appointment types are suitable for telehealth. Our highly trained medical providers will conduct an initial assessment of your specific care needs to determine the most appropriate level of care for you. While telehealth can effectively address many health issues, certain conditions may require in-person visits for a more thorough evaluation and treatment. Rest assured, our team is committed to ensuring you receive the highest standard of care tailored to your needs.
Scheduling a telehealth visit is easy! Visit our website, choose the service you need, and pick a convenient time. If you're scheduling for a minor, let us know during booking. Your visit may take place anywhere you feel comfortable and safe to discuss your medical concerns. This can take place at home from your couch, while out during errands if able to complete it safely and not while you are driving or any other time that is convenient for you. If you are on a time constraint such as while on a short break at work, please let our team know. We will make every attempt to accomadate you and work with you to complete the visit. We have different options for connecting with us including 2-way encrypted text messaging, audio or video call.
To improve your telehealth connection quality, start by testing your internet speed. Search “internet speed test” on Google and click “Run Speed Test.” Close unnecessary programs and avoid downloading large files. If your Wi-Fi isn't optimal, try using a wired Ethernet connection. If you still have issues, contact us through the portal to request an audio-only appointment. You'll receive the same high-quality care, including electronic prescriptions and other medical needs.
If you can't connect to your telehealth appointment, don't worry! Contact us via text, phone, or email. We might need to reschedule your appointment depending on the issue. Reach out through your patient portal, email us at contact@phoenixmedicalgroupfl.com, or text/call 850-902-0475. We're here to help!
Phoenix Medical Group uses a HIPPA compliant, encrypted platform with advance security measures to protect your privacy. The telehealth visit may be recorded including text messages, audio or video visits. It may be used for documentation of visit or quality and training purposes. Your information will never be shared, sold or used for any other purpose than this. Our telehealth platform is held to the same privacy standards as an in office, in-patient or hospital visit.
Medications that are prescribed during your visit or needing refilled should be discussed during your telehealth visit. These are sent in at the end of your telehealth appointment. They are sent in electronically and directly to your preferred pharmacy. Some medications may be compounded at special compounding pharmacies that either will require shipping to your residence or you may pick them up in person.
If a medication is prescribed or refilled and requires a prior authorization by your insurance company Phoenix Medical Group will be sent a prior auth form to complete and submit. We make every effort to fill these out as soon as possible. It may take a few days for your insurance company to review the submitted documentation and approve it. If it is denied for any reason we will contact you to discuss why and alternatives.
We do not prescribe certain controlled medications for ADHD, mental health or chronic pain conditions. Discuss this with your provider and they will review all of your medications with you. They will determine if the medication meets Florida standard prescribing protocol or if you may require referral to a specialist to have the medication prescribed.

This approach helps millions of people who do not or cannot afford insurance have the ability to still receive the best healthcare services available. We believe that medical care should not be influenced by insurance companies or pharmaceutical companies. You should be able to choose your medical provider and not be rushed during appointments. We take the time to get to know you and work with you to reach your goals. Our team will develop a plan for tailored to you that provides options for lower cost medications and low cost labs or other diagnostic tests.
We do accept FSA/HSA payments. If you do choose to use your insurance for your visit please let us know. We are more than happy to provide you an itemized bill that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. You may also use your insurance for any medication or diagnostic testing your insurance company approves.
Our board certified providers can see pediatrics. Through telehealth visits we will see 5 years and older. Please let us know ahead of time so we can send the correct consent forms for a minor. We will assess and evaluate the child during their scheduled appointment and determine the level of care that is needed. If at any time your provider feels the child needs an in person evaluation you may referred out. Most children are relatively healthy and typically present for telehealth appointments with minor illness's or minor injuries. The guardian must be present during the telehealth appointment and provide verification of their guardianship/relationship to the child.
While a full physical exam can't be done via telehealth, we offer a modified version. Our team can assess your condition and guide you on home monitoring for things like blood pressure and blood sugar. Be actively involved by logging your readings and sharing them with us through the patient portal or secure email. This teamwork ensures you receive top-quality care.
